HISTORY

 

Home of Their Own, Inc. was founded by Mona & Blake Schomas following the death of their 17 month daughter, Libby.  Little Libby fought a courageous six-month battle against acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Through their own experiences, the Schomas family saw the need for isolation housing, keeping families together as the sick child endured invasive medical treatments so far  from home.  

 

Throughout her short life, Libby touched and warmed the hearts of many associated with pediatric oncology.  Her memory continues to inspire individuals, even whole communities, to help others fighting childhood cancer.
